Office of
International Programs
For students coming to Nicaragua from abroad — to intern, to learn Spanish, to serve, or to study a term at a U.S.-accredited university in Central America.
Coming to Nicaragua
This office serves international students who want to spend time at our Latin American Campus — an internship, a summer of Spanish, a service-learning term, or a semester of coursework. Everything on this page is about arriving.
Going to Florida
If you are already a Keiser Nicaragua student and want to complete part of your degree at Keiser's Florida campuses or a partner university, that is a separate route. Ask your admissions counselor about study abroad.
Four ways to
spend time here
The Office of International Programs handles internationalization across the campus. These are the routes students most often take.
International Internship Program
For current university students and recent graduates. You work in a Nicaraguan organization, build professional experience, and use Spanish every day rather than in a classroom. Placement depends on your field and your level of Spanish.
Study at the Latin American Campus
Take coursework at a U.S.-accredited institution without leaving Latin America. Credits are issued by Keiser University under the same accreditation as our Florida campuses. See the academic catalog for what is on offer each term.
Spanish Summer Immersion
An intensive summer of Spanish in Central America. You live on campus, study the language daily, and spend the rest of the day in a country where you have no choice but to use it.
Social Outreach and Service Learning
Coursework paired with volunteer work in a specific field, usually across a semester or a full academic year. Participants are normally expected to arrive with some background in the field they will be working in.
On campus,
from day one
International students live in the residence halls at San Marcos. Supervised, with full dining service and security around the clock — which matters more than it sounds when you arrive in a country you do not know yet.
Managua is a commuter campus and has no residence halls.
Student Handbook
Rules, services and what is expected of you. Read it before you arrive.
Immigration Booklet
Visa and residency guidance for students entering Nicaragua. Confirm current requirements with the office before you travel — they change.

International admissions are handled by one person, not a queue. Tell him what you are studying, when you want to come, and for how long.
