What it costs,
and how we help

The published rates, the fees behind them, and the routes that change what you actually pay. Every figure on this page comes from the official tuition addendum, linked below.

Charged per semester

Not per year and not per credit. You are billed each semester, on the first day of class.

Set by your credit load

How many credits you take that semester decides which band you fall into, and the band sets the rate.

Assessed individually

Scholarships, payment plans and employer arrangements are reviewed case by case. The published rate is the starting point, not the conclusion.

The authoritative source

Start with the
official document

Keiser University publishes a tuition and fee disclosure for Nicaragua as an addendum to the catalog. It is the authoritative statement of what the university charges.

Everything on this page is reproduced from that document so you can read it in context. Where the two ever differ, the addendum governs.

A U.S. degree.

Accredited by SACSCOC — the same commission that accredits universities across the United States.

Earned in Nicaragua.

San Marcos and Managua campuses. No visa, no relocation, no leaving your family behind.

U.S. citizens and eligible residents

Federal financial aid

Keiser University is approved by the U.S. Department of Education to participate in federal student aid programs. U.S. Citizens and eligible residents may access federal aid. If you do not hold that status, this section does not apply to you — the institutional scholarships above are your route.

Federal Pell Grant

A need-based grant that does not have to be repaid. For undergraduates who have not already earned a bachelor's or professional degree. The amount depends on your financial need, the cost of attendance and your enrollment status. Requires the FAFSA.

Subsidized Direct Loan

For undergraduates with demonstrated financial need. Repayment begins six months after you graduate or drop below half-time enrollment. Annual limits: $3,500 in the first year, $4,500 in the second, $5,500 in the third and fourth.

Unsubsidized Direct Loan

For undergraduate and graduate students, regardless of need. Interest accrues from the moment the loan is disbursed and is capitalized if you do not pay it. Annual limits: $6,000 in the first and second undergraduate years, $7,000 in the third and fourth, and $20,500 for graduate students. Your dependency status on the FAFSA affects the amount.

Direct PLUS Loan

An unsubsidized loan taken out by the parent of a dependent student. Requires a credit check. Repayment begins 60 days after the loan is disbursed.

Private loans

If federal aid does not cover what you need, the Financial Aid Office can point you to alternative loan sources. Terms are set by the lender, not by the university.

Florida Prepaid College

If you hold a Florida Prepaid plan, it can be applied here. Ask the Financial Aid Office how to transfer the benefit.

Every loan has to be repaid, with interest. A grant does not. Before you borrow, read the four points under financial literacy further down this page.

How to apply for federal aid

Create your FSA ID

At studentaid.gov. This is the username and password you will use for everything that follows.

Step 2

Complete the FAFSA

A Financial Aid Officer walks you through what you were awarded and what it leaves to pay.

Step 5

Typically identification, residency documents and tax or income records for you, and for your parents if you are a dependent student.

At mappingyourfuture.org. Required before a first loan is disbursed.

How you pay

Payment options

Payment arrangements are separate from scholarships. They do not reduce what a semester costs — they change when you pay it.

Per semester

Monthly payment plans

Arranged through the Bursar's Office, so the semester charge is spread across the term rather than paid at once. Ask your advisor to set this up before the semester starts, not after.

Through your employer

Employer-sponsored arrangements

If your employer covers part or all of your studies, the Bursar's Office handles the billing arrangement directly. Bring the authorization from your employer when you enroll.

Where to pay

Six ways to make a payment

Whichever you use, keep the receipt. If someone else pays on your behalf, the charge is still in your name.

In person

Cashier's Office

Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. At the San Marcos campus.

Online through your portal

Sign in to the Student Portal, open My Finance, then Make Payment Online. This channel is for tuition only.

By card

Online card payment

Active students can pay by card online. Ask the Bursar's Office for the current payment link, and save a screenshot of the electronic receipt.

Recurring

Automatic debit

Set up once at the Bursar's Office and the installment is debited each month. Ask for the authorization form.

Official communication about your balance goes to your Keiser University email address, not to a personal one. Statements, deadlines and payment confirmations all arrive there.

If a parent, relative or employer pays for you, the account is still yours. Making sure the payment arrives, and on time, is your responsibility.

Borrowing responsibly

If you finance part of your studies, ask the Bursar's Office for a repayment projection before you sign — what the monthly figure will be after you graduate, not only during your studies. Borrow against the degree you will finish, not the semester in front of you.

Ask at the Bursar's Office
Financial literacy

Four things worth working out before you enroll

Most of this is not specific to Keiser. It is the arithmetic that decides whether a degree pays for itself, and it is far easier to do before you start than halfway through.

Price the credential, not the semester

A semester figure is easy to say yes to. Multiply your credit band by the number of semesters the program takes, add the mandatory fees each term, and add room and board if you will live on campus. That total is the real decision.

An award and a payment plan are not the same thing

A scholarship lowers what you owe. A monthly payment plan does not — it changes when you pay it. Both are useful, but only one reduces the total, and mistaking one for the other is the most common budgeting error we see.

Ask for the repayment figure before you sign

If you finance part of your studies, ask the Bursar's Office what the monthly payment becomes after you graduate, not during. Borrow against the degree you will finish, not against the semester in front of you.

Tell us when your situation changes

Eligibility for institutional scholarships is assessed individually and circumstances change. If your family's situation shifts mid-program, the Financial Aid Office would rather hear it early than find out when a payment is missed.

Questions

Before you ask us

Tuition and fees are charged per semester and are payable on the first day of class. Monthly payment plans are arranged through the Bursar's Office, and many students use one. Ask your advisor to set this up before the semester starts, not after.
The published rate is what the university charges before any award is applied. Scholarships, payment plans and employer arrangements are assessed individually, which is why we ask you to speak with an advisor rather than work it out from this page alone.
You are charged by the band your credit load falls into, not by the individual credit. Dropping from 12 credits to 9 moves you from the full-time band to the three-quarter-time band.
No. The addendum states that tuition and fees are subject to annual review and modification. The linked document is always the authoritative version; this page reproduces it for convenience.
The catalog sets out the Cancellation and Refund Policy and the University Withdrawal Policy, including how charges are prorated. Both are linked below.
No. All institutional scholarships are subject to an application and evaluation process, and eligibility and award amounts are determined individually against each scholarship's criteria. The Financial Aid Office can explain the requirements and guide you through the process.
Your next step

Find out what
you would pay

Tell an advisor which program you are considering and they will walk you through the rate, the scholarships you can apply for, and the payment options — in one conversation.
